Divisions
Administrative Operations
The Operations Division has 20 Deputy Sheriffs, 6 clerical employees and 1 maintenance employee assigned to the Division who are supervised by the Captain. The Operations Division provides a variety of services and programs:
- Community Oriented Policing (COPS)
- School Resources Officers (SRO)
- Animal Control/Animal Shelter
- Electronic Incarceration Program
- Criminal Records Management
- Civil Process
- Purchasing
- Maintenance
Corrections Division
The Corrections Division has 30 Deputy Sheriffs, 2 Paramedics, and 2 jail Cooks, assigned to the division who are supervised by the Division Lieutenant. The Corrections Division is responsible for security at the County jail facility and courthouse, and the transportation of inmates.
Investigation Division
The Investigation Division has 16 Investigators and 4 clerical employees assigned to the division who are supervised by the division lieutenant. Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit investigate a multitude of crimes such as larcenies, burglaries and homicides. Investigators assignee to the Special Investigation Unit investigate drug-related crimes.
Patrol Division
5 Shifts - 5 Sergeants, 5 Corporals, 26 Deputy Sheriffs
The Patrol Division has 36 Deputy Sheriffs assigned to the division who are supervised by the Division Lieutenant and work three 10-hour rotating shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift, 4 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. shift and 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. shift. The 5 patrol shifts are designated to overlap at peak time periods to provide additional personnel on duty. The Patrol Division responds to initial calls for services, investigates criminal offenses and enforces traffic violations.
