The Department of Public Safety coordinates all emergency services in Henry County.  Department personnel includes a Director, Deputy Director/Fire Marshal, EMS Coordinator, Deputy Fire Marshal/Fire Training Coordinator, Assistant Fire Marshal, EMS Training Coordinator, administrative assistant and full-time and part-time paramedic/firefighters. 

Equipment for emergency management includes a mobile command post, hazardous materials response trailer, mobile air supply unit, mass casualty incident response trailer, decontamination trailer, sheltering supplies, technical hazardous operations unit, and two advanced life support ambulances.  The Department also maintains a 5-story burn training structure, a fire backdraft simulator, and various hazardous material training proprs.

Public Safety Offices are located in the Emergency Services Training Center and Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Academy Building at 1024 DuPont Road, Martinsville, VA  24112.  The Department also operates an EMS station at 800 Hooker Street, Martinsville.  Additional information is available on our transitional website at:  http://www.hcdps.com.
