The Purchasing Office:

The Henry County Purchasing Department realizes the importance of honesty and fairness in all of its procurement activities.  It is the intent of the Purchasing Office and its staff to stay in compliance with the Henry County Code and the Virginia Procurement Act when performing all procurement activities. Our overall standards are high and straightforward as we encourage competition when possible to provide the best use of tax dollars for our paying citizens. 

This office has been members of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) for over 15 years, and the Virginia Association of Governmental Purchasing (VAGP).  By involving our staff in the membership of both of these organizations, we can educate and keep our staff up to date with all of the new and changing laws.

THIS IS A ONE TIME PUBLIC NOTICE OF POTENTIAL SURPLUS ITEMS THAT MIGHT BE SOLD USING GOVDEALS, WHICH IS AN INTERNET SIGHT DESIGNED FOR UNIQUE ITEMS. IF NO ITEMS ARE LISTED ON THE GOV DEALS SITE THEN THERE ARE NO ITEMS FOR SALE AT THIS TIME. AS A REMINDER THIS SITE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE NORMAL ON-SITE/LIVE AUCTION THAT THE COUNTY HAS EACH FALL.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Henry, Henry County Public Service Authority (PSA), and Henry County Schools will be conducting an internet auction of surplus equipment of unique items (items that are unique or hard to sell at normal auction) beginning December 29, 2008, utilizing GovDeals website.  All bidders and other participants of this auction must agree that they have read and fully understand the Online Sales - Terms and Conditions listed on the website and agree to be found thereby. No future advertisement will be done for surplus property sold on GovDeals.

Website Host:  GovDeals at http://www.govdeals.com/.  Click advance search under the search box, select Virginia from the drop down menu, then select Henry County from the seller drop down menu.

Registration is not required for viewing the website but is required for placing bids.  Please see the website for instructions on registering.

Terms of Auction:  All sales are final, sold "as is", "where is"; no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied.  The County reserves the right to reject any bid or bidder and remove any item from auction.

Transactions: All payments by Certified Check, Money Order or Company Check with mandatory bank letter guaranteeing funds made out to the "County of Henry" in full within five business days from the time and date of the Buyers Certificate.

Removal:  Within ten business days from the time an date of the Buyers Certificate, buyers must provide their own vehicles, equipment and manpower.  A $10.00 per day storage fee will be assessed beginning the 11th day.To be on our bidders list for RFP, Quotes and Bids, Simply mail, fax, or email us on your company letter head, your address, fax #, phone #, email and a contact name, within your information also include three (3) letters of recommendations from another Government facility if possible.  Also include what your company does.  Once we receive your information and review it, we will then apply you to our temporary vendor list.
