There will be a countywide Republican Party Primary on June 12, 2018 for Member, United States Senate.  All voting precincts will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. on that date.

A Democratic Primary for Member, House of Representatives in the 9th District will also be held on June 12, 2018.  If you are a registered voter in one of the following precincts you may vote on that date.  Since Henry County is split between the 5th & 9th Congressional Districts some precincts will not be having a Democratic Primary for House of Representatives on June 12, 2018.  The following precincts are in the 9th House of Representatives District and will be having a Democratic Primary on June l2, 2018:

*Cabell Street voters are in the 9th House of Representatives District and will be having a Democratic Primary. The polling place is Mount Olivet Ruritan Bldg.  The remaining streets  in the Mount Olivet Precinct are in the 5th District and will not be having a Democratic Primary on June 12, 2018.  

The Dyers Store precinct is split between the 5th & 9th House of Representatives District. If you do not know which district you are in go to: or  or call the Registrar at 638-5108.

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered in the Precinct in which you live in order to be qualified to vote in the June 12, 2018 Democratic Primary in the 9th Congressional District or Republican Primary countywide.   Remember, you may vote in only one of the two Primaries if both are being held at your precinct.  The deadline to make changes, or register for the first time is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018.  If you are already registered to vote, it is not necessary to re-register in order to be eligible to vote in this election.  All 24 polling places will be open for voting on June 12, 2018.  

IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING begins 45 days before each election.  Ballots are ready for voting now in the Registrar’s Office, located in Room 103 of the Henry County Administration Building.  Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.  (Office will be closed on Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day.)  The Registrar’s Office will also be open on the Absentee Voting DEADLINE, which is Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

BY MAIL ABSENTEE VOTING:  If you are eligible to vote an absentee ballot by mail, the Registrar must receive your application for absentee ballot no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
