Vaughn, Slaughter Selected to Lead Board of Supervisors for 2014
Ridgeway District Supervisor H.G. Vaughn and Reed Creek Supervisor Tommy Slaughter will lead the Henry County Board of Supervisors in 2014.
Vaughn was elected Chairman and Slaughter was re-elected Vice Chairman today at the Board’s annual Organizational Meeting. They were unanimously selected to serve the one-year terms.
Vaughn previously served two years as Chairman in 2006 and 2007. He also served as Vice Chairman for four years beginning in 2008. Slaughter will begin his third year as Vice Chairman.
Vaughn was nominated by current Board Chairman Jim Adams of the Blackberry District. Slaughter was nominated by Collinsville District representative Joe Bryant.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Henry County and I am optimistic about the upcoming year,” Vaughn said. “I appreciate the support of my fellow board members and the citizens.”
Vaughn has been the Ridgeway District representative on the Board since 2004 and had previously served on the Board from 1996 to 1999. His current term expires in 2015. Slaughter is in his second term as the Reed Creek representative on the Board, through 2015.
