Virginia Resources

Virginia Victim Notification Program (VINE)

The Virginia VINE System (website) is a service through which victims of crime can use the telephone or Internet to search for information regarding the custody status of their offender and to register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when the offender’s custody status changes.

Address Confidentiality Program

The Address Confidentiality Program (website) is a confidential mail-forwarding service, managed by the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, for victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual violence, and human trafficking who have recently relocated.

Virginia Victim Assistance Network (VVAN)

VVAN (website) is a statewide nonprofit organization with the mission to be a voice for crime victims and a resource for the providers who assist them. They have a Victim Assistance Helpline (1-855-443-5782), a Human Trafficking Info-line (1-833-463-6448), and the option to chat online with an advocate.

I-CAN! Virginia’s Online Forms Completion System for Protective Orders

I-CAN! Virginia (website) is a free online program that provides assistance with the preparation of court forms required to file for a protective order. I-CAN! Virginia is also available in Spanish.

Southside Survivor Response Center (SSRC)

SSRC serves the cities of Martinsville and Danville and the counties of Henry, Franklin, Patrick, and Pittsylvania. SSRC strives to empower women, children and families to live free from violence. Hope Cards

Hope Card Example 2A Hope Card is a laminated card, similar in size and shape to a credit card, that contains all the essential information about an existing permanent civil protective order in a durable, easy-to-read format. They do not replace the existing protective order, but they do provide quick information for law enforcement officers about the person ordered to stay away as well as those protected by the order. Hope Cards are available only to holders of a final civil protective order issued in participating Virginia localities.
