Dawn Futrell has been an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Henry County since 1997. She is originally from Chesapeake, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University with a BA in Political Science. She graduated from Duke University School of Law. Her husband, Bruce Updyke, is a Methodist minister and she has one stepdaughter, Melody, a zookeeper in Greenville, SC.
When she's away from the office her interests are church, golf, and travel.
