2022 Precincts Updated: Redistricting
February 23, 2022
New maps detailing changes in the magisterial districts for Henry County are now available for viewing on the Henry County website. The changes coincide with the requirement under the Constitution of Virginia which stipulates a reapportionment of the magisterial districts must take place every 10 years following the release of the decennial census. Since 2010, the County has experienced a population decline that lowered the median population of the magisterial districts from 9,025 residents to 8,491 residents. According to state statute, all magisterial districts must be drawn to ensure each district falls within 5% of the median population. Minor changes were made to current district boundaries to account for the 5% requirement. Only the Iriswood District remained unchanged.
